The village of Božanov is situated along the Božanovský brook below Broumovské stěny on the border with Poland. The principal landmark of the village and the surrounding countryside is Koruna hill (769 m a.s.l.), part of Broumovské stěny and providing view of part of the Broumov Basin, Hejšovina and Bor in Poland and, in good weather, the Jeseníky Mountains. The village is home to the recently refurbished Church of St. Mary Magdalene, another distinctive landmark. This Baroque church was built between 1735 and 1743 following plans drawn up by K. I. Dienzenhofer and is part of the Broumov Group of Churches National Cultural Monument.
