Police nad Metují

The town of Police nad Metují is located in the Náchod district. The geological development of this area not only led to the formation of a unique landscape area, but also put conditions in place for the creation of one of the most important underground drinking water reservoirs - the Police Cretaceous Basin. The town is home to the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary and a Benedictine monastery. The historical centre of the town is an urban conservation area. The first written mention of Police nad Metují dates back to 1213.
