The ruins of Vizmburk Castle are a unique object that has been preserved thanks to its exceptional fate.

The castle was built in the early Gothic period and life in it ceased shortly after the Hussite Wars, when it became ruins that were overgrown with forest for centuries. However, the castle did not fall into oblivion, local people told many legends about the castle... Its rediscovery took place in the 1970s, when the castle was dug out of the ground and, thanks to the enthusiasm of local volunteers, it was returned to tourist maps as an important medieval monument that lives a rich cultural life...

Vízmburk is located in the cadastre of the municipality of Havlovice, in the Trutnov district. It stands on a promontory above the Úpa River on the former trade route leading from the Czech Kingdom to Kladsko and on today's tourist trail between Červený Kostelec and Babiččíný údolí in Ratibořice.

The castle offers tours with historical interpretation, regularly organized events with a medieval focus, refreshments and pleasant facilities for resting along the way, and most importantly, a beautiful spectacle.
