A moderately challenging circuit that follows forest trails and roads, through some more remote parts of the Teplice border region. The route is suitable for both fitness riders as well as for more recreational bikers wanting to explore.
Teplice nad Metují – Zdoňov/Autokemp Loděnice – Mieroszów – Meziměstí – Vernéřovice – Teplice nad Metují
From Teplice nad Metují to Zdoňov following the red biking route No. 4036 - a short stretch along the municipal road and then along an unpaved dirt road and forest trail, then continue along the road further through Poland territory via Mieroszów to Meziměstí along route 4020. The best way to get from Meziměstí via Vernéřovice back to Teplice nad Metují is by following the red markers mostly along unpaved dirt roads and trails, passing through Vernéřovice along the road.
Along the way you can see the Reconciliation Monument and the unusual stone Cross of Reconciliation on Bukowa Góra hill. You can get a drink and a bite to eat at the Loděnice campsite in Zdoňov during the season. In Mieroszów the route passes near the local lookout tower. When you reach Meziměstí you can admire the chateau there - the former summer residence of the Broumov abbots, privately owned, as well as the Railway Station building, a technical heritage site. In the renovated old factory, you can enjoy a workout in the multi-purpose Walzel Centre, or simply chill out in the swimming pool. In Vernéřovice, it’s worth checking out the Baroque Church of St. Michael the Archangel and the neo-Gothic pilgrimage Church of Our Lady of Perpetual Help by the spring in Vernéřovice.
