A fairly physically challenging yet laid-back scenic circuit around the Adršpach-Teplice Rocks on paved roads, dirt tracks, forest paths and roads. There are several refreshment options along the route.
Teplice nad Metují - Bučnice - Adršpach - Liščí sedlo - Skály / Bischofstein - Javor - Teplice nad Metují
The route starts at the signpost under the railway overpass near the square in Teplice n. M. Follow the red markers (biking route No. 22) towards Bučnice. Go over the railway crossing, continue on for about 300 m, then turn left and ride up to the top of the street to Kamenec, where you turn right and go down past the ski slope to the entrance to Teplice Rocks.
From the signpost at the entrance to Teplice Rocks, continue along the red trail to Bučnice. The route follows the forest trail upstream of the Metuje River alongside the main road to Trutnov. Continue past the Hotel Skalní Mlýn along the red trail until you get to Adršpach.
In Dolní Adršpach, next to the main car park at the entrance to the rocks, you can stop for a drink and a bite to eat. The Adršpach rock town is one of the most famous in the Czech Republic. It is accessible via a marked scenic circuit, which you can do on your own or take a guided tour.
From the car park, follow the marked route No. 4022 along the road and around 150 m after Adršpach Chateau turn left off the road, onto the secondary asphalt road to the marked biking route No. 4036 and ride up the gentle slope above the village. There are beautiful views of the Adršpach Rocks from there.
Cross the railway tracks and ride up the steep slope following the red markers of route No. 4036, which leads around the entire Adršpach-Teplice Rocks. On the left-hand side you pass Starozámecký hill, while on the right side you get some beautiful views of the Jestřebí Mountains and, if visibility is good, the Krkonoše. The route leads through rolloing terrain past the Liščí sedlo signpost above Janovice.
From here, the route runs parallel to the yellow hiking trail. You come to the signpost Pod Zvětralým vrchem. From there, continue through the meadows; on the left side of the path you can enjoy some lovely views of the Temple Walls in the Teplice Rocks and the Krkonoše Mountains (behind you).
After the meadows you come to the forest - continue along the edge of the trees until you arrive above the village of Skály. There, you can grab some light refreshments from the self-service bar at the Pasler farmstead. Follow the marked biking route down to the forest car park by the road, at the signpost above Bischofstein Chateau (refreshments available in the restaurant). From there, turn right and follow the road down to the village of Skály.
From the Osada Skály signpost, continue on towards Dědov: around 100 m after the signpost, turn left onto a dirt trail (unmarked section), which starts opposite the entrance gate to the chateau complex, and follow it for about 1.3 km alongside the forest to the next signpost. There, turn right and follow the red footpath markers towards Dědov.
At first the route goes slightly uphill, then from the top of the hill you ride down into Dědov. There, where the red markers meet the road, turn left and join long-distance biking route No. 22, which after about 4 km takes you to Teplice nad Metují.
