Heřmánkovice
Heřmánkovice
The municipality of Heřmánkovice is located in the northern part of the Broumov promontory and it extends to the very border of the Javoří Mountains.
A significant monument in the municipality is the Baroque Church of All Saints, built in 1723 in accordance with the project of architect Kilián Ignác Dientzenhofer. In front of the church, there is a Calvary (circa 1800) and 2 crosses of reconciliation by the churchyard wall. In the municipality, there is a great number of minor sacral monuments (crosses, statues) and several farms of the Broumov type.
A part of Heřmánkovice is the community of Janovičky, at the border with Poland – a popular holiday resort with several guest houses. In the winter, ski lifts may be used for downhill skiing, or marvellous tourist paths for cross-country skiing. In the summer, the surrounding terrain offers a number of alternatives for hikes and cycling trips (for trekking or mountain bikes) on the edge of the Javoří Mountains – marked cycling path No. 4002 (the Javoří Mountains).
The Janovičky – Gluszyca tourist border crossing offers the opportunity to visit interesting tourist destinations in Poland, such as Góry Sowie or the Osówka former underground factory.
